HAPPY (fucking) ANNIVERSARY (hate)

So, yeah. Fasting kind of failed today because it was the store's anniversary and they bought cake for everyone and it was... I only had a small piece but still. Also, had a small 30cal yogurt. Rawr.

I hate how people always celebrate with food. It's the dumbest thing ever and it always ruins everything...

Actually, you and Ana's Girl bring up a good point. One of the biggest reasons 2/3 of Americans are overweight is because of our attitudes towards food. And we pass them on to our children....

When it's time to celebrate? Food.

Family get-togethers like holidays? Food.

When your child is good and deserves a reward? Food.

When your child is sad and needs cheering up? Food.

And we even override our hunger signals - we're taught to eat at specific meal times instead of eating when we're hungry. And "finish your plate" instead of stopping when you're full.

No wonder we all have so many problems with food.

(I count myself lucky that I can refuse celebration cakes at work, because I can't eat the wheat. It makes it easy to say no.)
